Marie Phinney, 79, lives in Malden but grew up in the West End not too far from downtown. Growing up, she says the Statehouse was her playground! She remembers playing with her toys in the Statehouse Hall of Flags until an officer told her it was time to go home. She raised a family of 6 children and worked with disabled children in the public schools for nearly 30 years. Despite her hard work, retirement has not been easy.
