Mbta passes low income fare
On March 28, 2024 the MBTA Board voted to create a new low-income fare. Thanks to the members of Mass Senior Action this new reduced fare will be available everyone who uses the RIDE. More than 60,000 people will save 50% on their transit fares once implemented.
Asset Limit Eliminated for Medicare Savings Programs
On March 1, 2024 the asset limit for the Medicare Savings Programs was eliminated! This achievement builds upon upon earlier increases to the income eligibility in 2020 and 2023, all thanks to the tireless efforts of hundreds of members of Mass Senior Action.
Thousands of seniors with limited incomes can now access relief from the high costs of Medicare.
Secured $1 Billion to move thousands out of nursing Homes
April, 2024 Mass Senior Action and 7 nursing home residents settled its class action lawsuit against the Commonwealth securing $1 billion commitment for new housing and community supports for people leaving long term care facilities.
